K-series cPRO molded case circuit breakers are designed to use interchangeable trip modules that control an array of operating characteristics from amp range to the type of protection desired. The breakers are available in both thermal-magnetic and electronic types. In addition, several devices are 100% rated breakers. This can eliminate the need to upsize to a larger breaker size. Accessories and other options are UL listed to be field installed, so adding or changing functionality is a simple onsite procedure.
The thermal-magnetic breakers are rated to 600V AC / 250V DC, with
continuous amp ratings from 100 - 400A. Three levels of breaking capacity — high, medium and low — are available up to 200kA.

Electronic trip breakers can be used to tailor protection to your specific application by offering multiple interchangeable trip options. Their modular design allows for a range of trip ratings from 70 to 400A within the same compact frame size. Three levels of breaking capacity are also available for every breaker.
Choosing a K-series breaker with an electronic trip module allows you to coordinate the breaker with your application and circuit scheme. Four trip characteristics are available:
In more complex panels, these options can guard against nuisance tripping and assure that the breaker closest to the fault trips first.

Breakers can be purchased as an assembled unit or by components for
reduced inventories. Rather than stocking many sizes of complete breakers, a few frames can be inventoried with various ratings plugs and trip modules.
The cPRO K-series can be ordered as a factory assembled device or by components. Because K-series breakers utilize interchangeable trip modules, inventories are reduced because you can stock one frame, but several different trip modules, depending on what you need.

The cPRO K-series also includes two- and three-pole molded case switches that offer up to 400A switching capabilities in applications to 600V AC and 250V DC. Molded case switches are constructed of circuit breaker components and include a fixed magnetic trip to increase the short circuit withstand rating (65kA @480V) and to protect the switch itself. They are also listed for reverse feed use and are 100% rated devices. A shunt trip is also available for these switches, a feature not offered by many other manufacturers.

All operators include a lock-out mechanism for up to three padlocks that prevent the handle from being turned to the ON position. Door interlocks also prevent the enclosure door from being opened while the handle is in the ON position (defeat mechanisms are included). Flange handle can be mounted up to 10 feet away from the breaker.
An electrical solenoid operator is available for local and remote operation (ON, OFF and RESET). The solenoid mechanism trips the breaker in as little as 80ms. The unit has a unique bistable latch that allows it to be operated with only one solenoid. It can also be padlocked in the OFF position.
